OuTrop's education team also assists with the management of OCCEF (Orang-utan Conservation Communication and Education Forum), a group formed from the education teams of many Indonesian orang-utan interest groups. It was created to promote the sharing of educational resources and ideas, in turn centralising the information being distributed to schools, universities and interested parties by the educational teams involved.

The OCCEF team distributes a newsletter about the activities of the group, keeping all its members informed of how the Forum is progressing, and how members are tackling different aspects of Environmental education involving the orang-utan, its conservation and its habitat.
